How an installation works

From customer enquiry to installed and commissioned water softening system; here we describe the steps involved and how we work.

First customer contact

You get in touch with us via our online form or via telephone and tell us what you have in mind - whether you already know what system you need or you know what result you have in mind.

Understanding the site

To draw up the installation plans we need to know what the site looks. This involves learning where the main water is coming into the property and where the stop cocks are located. To soften the water in the whole property, apart from the drinking taps. A water softener is commonly installed under the kitchen sink, or in a utility cupboard or room, but the unit can also be installed in an outside cabinet, or the loft or basement. The kitchen is often the desired location because it gives easy access to you to keep and eye on salt levels or to refill the salt.

We will ask you for photos of the site and for information about where the water main stop cock is located.

Often, this is enough to propose an installation plan and provide a quotation.

Video call or site visit (if necessary)

If photos alone isn't enough or if it's for some other reason is easier, we will propose a video call or a site visit (all free of charge, naturally!) so that we can make a proper judgment of the best solution for your property.

Quotation

When we have identified the products and system for you, we will provide a full quotation with detailed information of products and the costs involved. The quoted price is guaranteed for 30 days.

Schedule an installation date

We can often offer installation dates within two weeks, so you get your property upgrade quickly.

Installation

An installation usually takes a few hours and is done within a day. The water will have to be turned off in the property when the work takes place. At the end, our installer will commission the system and show you how it works.
